Gabby Agbonlahor as soon as spent £100k on a vacation – and it did not go very far

The Aston Villa legend opened up about his past partying antics during an appearance on the Ben Heath Podcast on Tuesday (May 7) as well as the vast amounts of cash he splashed out on holidays with his family and friends.

“I think it was about £100,000,” the 37-year-old revealed. “That was because imagine [you had] six weeks off, the first holiday would be a trip to Dubai with the two kids and the missus and you’re talking back then about £10,000.

“Then you come back from that and it’s a lads holiday so you’d help your friends out towards their flights and hotels so before you book that, you’re talking £7,000 or £8,000.”

He added that the sheer spending just to get into a club and get a table for him and his mates were extortionate and that he wasn’t even “going crazy”. “Before you know it, you’re doing £8,000 a day for 10 days plus the other holidays so it’s not even like you’re going crazy, that £3,000 will get you a bottle of Magnum vodka [and] a bottle of tequila twice.

“You’re not getting 20 bottles of champagne and spraying it around the whole club.” Agbonlahor admitted to being a “party addict” during his younger years as he remarked: “It’s not like you’re going wild on flashy spending, it’s just getting a table and most people go Vegas for two nights, I’m going for 10 days like a party addict and that’s the problem and why the expense was so high”.

The former England international recently revealed that he didn’t enjoy going on international duty due to thinking he wouldn’t get game-time with the intense competition among the forward line.

“I would pull out of England squads because I think I was into 13 to 16 England squads but I pulled out of quite a few because I was more thinking ‘am I gonna play’,” he said on the podcast.
