‘I’m a tattoo addict – as accomplice lay on loss of life mattress I feared for my inkings’
‘Britain’s most tattooed mum’ revealed one of her biggest concerns as her partner laid on his death bed – and it was to do with ink.
Melissa Sloan, 46, from Wales, is infamous for her vast collection of body art that has mostly been done ‘prison style’ at home by partner, Luke.
Without Melissa’s boyfriend being able to etch her at least three times a week, she wouldn’t have anyone to fulfil her frequent body art desires – mainly because she’s been ‘banned’ from actual parlours.

But when Luke – who she has two children with – was rushed to hospital last year after his health began to fail, Melissa thought he was a goner. And, so was her days of tattoos.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Melissa admitted that she’d be a “right mess” if Luke died as she wouldn’t have been able to get anymore tattoos done.
The tattoo-obsessive told us: “He’s still with me – God bless him. I don’t know what I would do without him, I really wouldn’t know what to do.
“I’d have no tattoos done then if he went, would I! If I can’t get my tattoos done then I’d be a right mess.
“He’s okay now, he had heart failure and only half his heart is working and his lungs have packed up on him.”
Luckily for Luke, and for Melissa’s tattoo collection, his health is in a more stable condition. But while Melissa was afraid to lose her companion and personal tattooer, she gained something else in her life.
As she battled with the thought of potential impending grief for two big parts of her life, the mum decided to make a bed side prayer where she quickly established a relationship with Jesus.
Not wanting to give up her partnership with Luke, afraid of never having another tattoo and having her girls lose their father, Melissa said that a miracle suddenly happened.
“When Luke was in hospital on his last legs, when he had hours to live, I was there by his side,” she candidly recalled.
“He was given everything, he just had to pull through. I prayed that night in the room and I never prayed before and I said ‘don’t let him die for the kids’.
“And a miracle happened, he pulled through and that’s when I think I started to believe in Jesus.”
Melissa’s new-found faith got off to a rocky start after she claimed to be ‘chucked’ out of a local church because of her tattoos and her ‘loud’ signing.
Despite her banishment from the church, Melissa’s love for Jesus hasn’t wavered – he’s apparently the one who’s kept her fresh ink collection alive after all, oh and kept Luke kicking too.
“They kicked me out and it just felt so wrong because they’re supposed to open the doors to everyone, I couldn’t believe it,” she previously told us.
“They judged me because of my tattoos, they’re supposed to open the doors and not judge. There’s evil people in the church, there must be. To chuck me out like that, no one helped me.
“They all just sat there, so they must be evil – not all of them.
“I’m there for Jesus, just like everyone else. He would love me because he doesn’t judge anyone.”
