MI5 hunt pension boffin to take care of 007’s investments –however there is a catch

Spooks want a pension boffin to look after real life 007’s investment portfolios – just as long as they stay off drugs long enough to land the gig.

A blurb posted online by bosses at MI5 says the secret service wants a £43,957-a-year Senior Pensions Specialist to manage spies’ benefit packages.

Applicants are warned they will be expected to deal with “complex queries” and take on “ad-hoc projects”.

The ad states that looking after the retirement plans of real life James Bond’s involves “empathy and integrity”.

The job description adds: “You will be able to take on ad-hoc projects and you’ll play a key role in the Pensions team, helping to give our current and former members of staff the peace of mind that a well-run pension brings.”

But potential candidates are warned MI5 has a “strict drugs policy” meaning “once you start your application, you can’t take any recreational drugs and you’ll need to declare your previous drug usage at the relevant stage”.

Other benefits include 25 days annual leave, excellent pension, cycle to work scheme and access to facilities including a gym, restaurant and on-site coffee shop.

MI5 bosses do have one rule the applicant must comply with

Last month we told how spy chiefs were looking to hire a team of Persian lingo boffins to battle assassins, poisoners and kidnappers sent to cause havoc on British streets by the Iranian regime.

The move came just weeks after an Iranian TV journalist was stabbed in the leg outside his house in south west London, in an attack being probed by counter terror cops.

And we previously reported MI5 chiefs were looking to hire “cost-cutting” Procurement Managers to get discounts on gadgets for real-life 007s.

And in March we told how spy chiefs are also on the hunt for a weapons expert like Q in the 007 movies.

MI5 wanted an “Explosives/IED expert on £66k-a-year to help real-life James Bonds fight off Britain’s enemies.
