Paris Hilton’s brother-in-law makes footy debut at 45 – as group is relegated
Paris Hilton’s brother-in-law, Courtney Reum, fulfilled a life time ambition to play professional football.
Reum, 45, joined second division Portuguese side Lank Vilaverdense on transfer deadline day – despite never playing football at a professional level. However, he is a friend of the club’s owner, Adrian Johansson, and after signing for the club he became an investor.
Lank Vilaverdense had already been relegated ahead of their clash with Torreense over the weekend. And they were 1-0 down when Reum was introduced as a substitute in the 86th minute, replacing Carlos Freitas.

After the game, Lank Vilaverdense’s manager Sérgio Machado explained: “In the last minutes I made a decision not as a coach, but as the father of this group. It was tough, but I had to look out for the good of my children.
“These last 10 minutes help a lot so that my players don’t go through what they went through again. I can’t say too much, I can only say that it was difficult. Never in my life could I put my players at risk.

Reum is a businessman, investor and author of the book Shortcut Your Startup: Speed Up Success with Unconventional Advice from the Trenches. And his brother, Carter, is married to American businesswoman and media personality Paris Hilton.
The couple were engaged in February 2021, announcing the exciting news at Paris’ 40th birthday party – before tying the knot that November.
Courtney and Carter come from wealthy stock and their father, Robert Reum, is the former CEO of Amsted Industries, one of the largest private companies in the US.
