Kane says Bayern transfer has ruined his golf – however is now taking part in with Germany icon

Golf nut Harry Kane has revealed his golf game has gone “ka-putt” since he moved to Germany.

The England captain said his swing suffered after leaving Tottenham Hotspur for German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The striker has gone from being a scratch player to playing three shots over par since moving to the German club because he doesn’t have time to play as much.

He started having lessons to improve his game with golf professional Robert Rock in the UK but his Germany move halted them.

He said: “I’m a three handicapper right now but I was a bit lower at one stage back when I was playing a little bit more.

“I even got down to scratch a few years ago. I haven’t played too much since I’ve made the move to Munich – I’ve had to sort a load of other more important stuff out before I can get back to dedicating time to golf.

“I’m working with Robert Rock at the minute. Frustratingly we only started working in May last year and I’d had about three or four lessons but then the move to Germany happened.

“So we’ve not been able to continue as frequently as I’d liked.”

Kane, 30, said he won’t take his clubs with him to the Euros this summer.

He said: “The only thing is we don’t take our own clubs away with us on England duty, so we are always playing with a hire set, which is never quite the same.”

Since moving to Germany, team-mate and Germany legend Thomas Muller has become a regular golf partner.

Kane added: “He’s a really good golfer, has a really nice swing, hits the ball pure and plays about a three handicap, so we have a good game whenever we go out. He’s definitely up there as one of the best.”
