King Charles reveals one factor he misplaced throughout most cancers therapy in emotional chat

King Charles has revealed the thing he “lost” during his ongoing battle with cancer.

The monarch has revealed in intimate detail parts of his experience of treatment for the disease. He was on a visit to the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop in Hampshire this afternoon (Monday, May 13) where he spoke with British Army veteran Aaron Mapplebeck.

During his chat, Mr Mapplebeck said he had undergone chemotherapy last year as part of his treatment for testicular cancer. He said that during this process he had lost his sense of taste, which the King said had gone for him too.

Mr Mapplebeck explained that he had undergone the treatment for nine weeks of intensive chemo in February 2023.

It has not been confirmed what cancer the King is being treated for, only that he is being treated for an undisclosed form of the disease.

The King met with his son and heir Prince William during the visit, where the two were pictured standing in front of an Apache helicopter. Here he made William the formal head of his younger son Harry’s old helicopter regiment with the two embracing in a hug.

The King, 75, has been gradually returning to public engagements following taking a step back from public life in the wake of his cancer diagnosis.

Meanwhile, King Charles is understood to have been “too busy” to see his youngest son Prince Harry while he was in the UK last week as part of his role in the Invictus Games.
