Usyk’s response to Fury’s dad after he headbutted his good friend in heated conflict

Oleksandr Usyk couldn’t help but chuckle after seeing footage of Tyson Fury’s dad, John, headbutting his mate during a heated encounter.

The build-up to the much-anticipated undisputed heavyweight world title bout between Fury and Usyk this Saturday night in Riyadh is already boiling over. John Fury confronted a member of Usyk’s entourage before delivering a headbutt to Stanislav Stepchuk.

His pal was left with a minor mark above his eye, while John Fury’s face was smeared with blood. A team Usyk insider spilled the beans to Seconds Out about Usyk’s reaction to the video of Stepchuk getting headbutted: “He was just laughing, it was funny when he showed him the video.”

Usyk shrugged off the scuffle, making it clear that his eyes are locked on Fury, not his old man. “Crazy day, crazy week. For me, it doesn’t matter because my focus is on the fight. Bad behaviour from Fury team and Fury’s father, it’s only a problem for Fury’s team,” he declared to The Stomping Ground.

“I think Tyson has bipolar. One week Tyson says [I’m a] rabbit, bad guy, light-heavyweight. Next week, good boxer and a lot of good words for me. I don’t think about, my focus is only on the fight. I don’t have a prediction because I’m not an expert, I’m only an athlete. My prediction… beautiful fight… beautiful win. Oleksandr ‘The Cat’ Usyk. Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”, reports the Mirror.

John has since apologised for his actions but claims his defence was in response to his son being disrespected by Usyk’s team. Stepchuk admitted he was shocked when John headbutted him and described the moment as irrational.

“I was just supporting my team and shouting Usyk,” he added.

“I didn’t touch him [John], he just exposed his mind and went crazy. If he gets mad only from shouting Usyk’s name, what will happen in five days? He thinks there isn’t respect because of shouting Usyk’s name, so maybe he is a little bit crazy. For his sake, don’t watch the actual fight because he could have a heart attack and finish in an ambulance.”
