John Fury KO’d in brutal throwback as Tyson Fury’s dad bloodied in Saudi chaos

Loudmouth John Fury was up to his old tricks after cutting himself from headbutting an unsuspecting Oleksandr Usyk supporter.

Boxing superstar Tyson Fury‘s father ended up with a self-inflicted wound after sticking his nut on Stanislav Stepchuk, a member of Oleksandr Usyk‘s entourage, in Saudi Arabia on Monday. Tyson is set to go head-to-head with the Ukrainian world champion in Riyadh this Saturday, and it appears his dad is well up for a fight himself.

Fury Sr certainly looked the part as he sported a fresh wound on his forehead that left him dripping blook. Both Usyk, 37, and Wythenshawe-born Tyson, 35, were not present during the incident – and this isn’t the first time fans have witnessed John getting injured, reported the Manchester Evening News.

The ex-bare knuckle fighter had his own professional career, boasting a record of 8-4-1 before retiring permanently in 1995. The final two of those four losses were knockouts, marking the end of his eight-year stint in the ring.

Fury Sr, 59, was first finished by future WBO champion Henry Akinwande in October 1991 at Manchester’s G-Mex Centre. He didn’t participate in another professional bout for nearly four years until he faced a crushing fourth-round knockout loss to Steve Garber in June 1995.

Bouncing back from two hefty losses is no walk in the park, but Tyson’s old man has kept his fighting spirit alive through the more successful careers of his sons. John has shown on more than one occasion that he’s still got that fire in his belly, though that often translates into becoming more of a nuisance for promoters.

“I was just supporting my team and shouting ‘Usyk,'” Stepchuk told Seconds Out soon after copping a noggin from Fury Sr. “I didn’t touch him [John], he just exposed his mind and went crazy.

“If he gets mad only from shouting Usyk’s name, what will happen in five days? He thinks there isn’t respect because of shouting Usyk’s name, so maybe he is a little bit crazy.”

It’s far from the first rodeo for John, who’s been known to stir the pot at his sons’ gigs before, like lobbing a bottle at KSI prior to his fight against son Tommy. On that same day, he also nearly scrapped with Logan and Jake Paul’s dad, not to mention getting the stare-down cancelled when he wrecked a table on-stage.
