Brazilian pickup truck driver plows into biker making an attempt to mug nurse

This is the moment a Good Samaritan reversed his pickup truck into a motorcyclist and ran him over to prevent him from mugging a nurse in broad daylight in Brazil.

Surveillance footage showed the gun-toting suspect going through the woman’s cell phone on a sidewalk in the southeastern city of Uberlândia on Tuesday morning.

Luciano Campbell drove by and noticed the woman placing her hands on her face in disbelief and drove back with 10 seconds and pulled over to question the suspect.

The perp could be seen lifting his sweatshirt to show off the gun on his waistband.

Campbell drove off immediately and the assailant proceeded to snatch the woman’s cell phone off her hands.

He was about to escape when Campbell accelerated in reverse and plowed into him and knocked him to the ground.

‘We need to have courage and love for others. We went through a pandemic, and it seems like no one learned to have empathy,’ Campbell told Brazilian news outlet G1. ‘You can’t go through situations like this and do nothing. It could be someone in my family.’

After falling to the ground, the thief took out his gun and began to shout at Campbell, who drove off without any shots being fired.

‘I got out of the truck to stop him, but from afar I saw that the gun was real and I ended up going back to the car,’ he said.

The suspect fled the scene and remained on the run as of Thursday.

The armed suspect sat on his scooter and eventually showed the driver of the pickup truck that he was carrying a gun while the nurse stood by nervous on a sidewalk in Uberlândia, Brazil, on Tuesday. The suspect was run over the driver moments later and fled the scene. He remains on the run

The woman, who was returning from work, was able to recover her phone and was treated at an area hospital for an unknown injury and discharged.

Uberlândia Civil Police Chief, Marcos Tadeu, told the outlet that Campbell is being investigated for running over the motorcyclist, but could be cleared of any charges if they prove he acted to defend the woman.

Campbell said he lives in the same neighborhood as the woman and thought about his wife when he sprang into action.

‘At the time, I thought it was something that could happen to my wife because she had just left to go to the gym,’ he said.

‘The girl was very nervous. When I asked her if everything was OK, she couldn’t even respond.’
