‘I’ve a firework tattooed on my arm – however individuals assume it is one thing impolite’
Tattoos are all the rage these days, with people getting inked up with everything from artsy designs to snappy quotes.
But sometimes, what’s meant to be a bit of body art can take on a whole new meaning in the eyes of beholders. Take this one person who shared their tat tale on Reddit, revealing the colourful firework tattoo on their arm.
You’d think it’d be clear as day, but nope, most punters reckon it looks like something far cheekier.

Spilling the beans, the tattoo owner posted: “Please help, I got this tattoo a few months ago. It was meant to be a firework but people keep saying it looks like an anus. How can I make this look more firework like?”
The internet had a field day with this one, cracking up over the unexpected comparison. But the consensus was clear – how on earth does that look like a backside? Most thought it was a bit of a stretch, with some suggesting those making the bum remarks must be having a laugh.
Chiming in, one user commented: “To be fair – it doesn’t look much like a firework either…. That said, I kinda like it.” While another quipped: “If their anus looks like this, they are probably waaaaaaay too into anal and should get a doctor to look at it.”
A third chimed in: “It doesn’t, but some little sparkles dotted around the edges in the different colours to make the tattoo take up more space would give a more obvious firework vibe. It’s good as it is though.”
While the ink sparked heaps of chatter online, most were keen to reassure the tattoo owner that it’s all good. Yet, some suggested a few tweaks could amp up the wow factor. One suggested: “Definitely not an anus. But I do think it would look a little better if the void in the center was not so large in comparison to the overall image. If the lines extended inward more I think it might look better. Even if they weren’t all aligned in length.”
Another added: “I don’t agree with that person at all, but it doesn’t really look like a firework either. I’d recommend getting what my tattoo artist calls glitter. Basically, it’s just multicoloured dots that are clustered together to look like sparkles. I believe the correct term is pointillism.
“You could fill in all the space in between with that and then add a glow effect in your choice of colour around the whole thing. If it drowns out the original lines, you could get them thickened with a more vibrant colour. For even more flare, you could add some real simple diamond style stars around the outer area of the main tattoo.”
