38 kids rushed to hospital and 700 evacuated as lightning strikes camp
Some 38 children have been rushed to hospital and another 700 people have been evacuated following a lightning strike at a campsite.
Reports of the incident in Germany have come from the Pentecost tent camp after it was said to have been hit by a thunderbolt on Sunday (May 19). A violent storm is understood to have passed over the Soest district where it reportedly struck the tent camp of the youth fire brigades.
Children and their carers have been reported by the Sun to have been moved to an old rocket station in Soest-Ruploh area. Initial reports claim emergency services are on the scene with no injuries currently reported.
