EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: No ring for Zendaya but, says Spider-man star’s dad

This will please the young women who gather at the stage door every night after Tom Holland performs in Romeo & Juliet…

For the Spider-Man star will not be walking down the aisle any time soon, his father says.

It was recently reported that Tom, who turns 28 next week, and Hollywood superstar Zendaya, 27, had discussed marriage.

But comedian Dominic Holland says: ‘They are a happy couple, so who knows? But there are no marriages in the Holland household yet.’

Fame hasn’t gone to Tom’s head, insists Holland, who lives in Kingston Upon Thames.

‘Tom has three brothers and a mum and dad who don’t treat him any differently. We all want our kids to do well. But I always try to keep him grounded.’

She was the youngest-ever principal dancer at the Royal Ballet before becoming a judge on Strictly. Could Dame Darcey Bussell’s next move be to a mayoress?

I ask only because her husband, former stockbroker Angus Forbes, is leading a campaign for a directly elected mayor in Plymouth, Devon, where the couple own a home.

Signatures of 5 per cent of the electorate are needed to trigger a referendum.

‘A directly elected mayor puts people and places above politics,’ says Forbes. ‘This is the future. To create a space and opportunity for Plymouth to really show its potential.’

Anne: Why I couldn’t be Queen of Mean today

Known as The Queen of Mean when she hosted The Weakest Link, Anne Robinson says the BBC would never accept her rudeness to contestants these days.

‘I couldn’t bring my flavour to it any more,’ she tells Saga magazine.

‘It would be totally politically unacceptable. You can’t say to people, ‘Why are you fat? Do you think you eat too much?’

The 79-year-old, who hosted the quiz show until 2012, adds: ‘We’ve all become far too sensitive.’

These days, it is hosted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan, a prominent mental health advocate who ran this year’s London Marathon in aid of charity Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Jonathan Yeo’s fiery red portrait of King Charles has divided critics — but it’s clearly got people talking.

The Philip Mould Gallery in Pall Mall, London, where it’s on display for a month, has been inundated with visitors.

‘We had 350 people just on Friday morning,’ Mould tells me.

‘After it’s been with me, it’s going to Buckingham Palace. It’s going to be on display there for the summer, we think.’

Revealed, 60th birthday gift that left Diana’s brother in tears

Turning 60 can be reason for celebration. But Earl Spencer, who reached the milestone yesterday, was, I hear, overcome with emotion.

Princess Diana’s younger brother gave a party at Althorp House, his ancestral home in Northamptonshire, and one particularly poignant present left the historian in tears.

‘I had 30 friends and family to stay over the weekend,’ Charles Spencer explains. ‘I was brought down to the lake at Althorp by a friend on Saturday.

‘Her husband hand-made this astonishingly beautiful canoe for me, as a surprise, over many months. I cried on seeing it. It’s almost too exquisite to paddle.

‘The husband said, ‘I just thought it would be useful when you visit your sister’. Such an overwhelmingly beautiful thought.’

The canoe is pictured on the bank next to the Oval Lake at Althorp, the 13,000-acre estate where Charles and Diana grew up with their two sisters.

Diana was buried on a small island in the middle of the lake, which can be reached only by boat.

Althorp is open to the public in July and August, the anniversaries of Diana’s birth and death. Visitors can leave floral tributes and letters to Diana at a memorial near her resting place.

Lord Spencer has explained: ‘It has been decided to bury Diana, Princess of Wales, in the grounds of Althorp Park, where her grave can be properly looked after by her family and visited in privacy by her sons.’

He had originally planned to lay Diana to rest in the family tombs at a local church, but said he was ‘worried’ about her safety.

Spencer’s relationship with Diana was strained at times. She asked him for a cottage on the estate, the Garden House, as a ‘bolthole’ in 1993, and his refusal to grant her request came as a shock.

He feared, possibly with good reason, that his family would suffer from police and media interference.

In fact, he offered her several alternative houses on the sprawling estate, none of which she accepted.

He’s the TV adventurer who’s been chased by lions and pulled underwater by snakes, but Bear Grylls says men shouldn’t be afraid to weep.

‘The last time that I cried? Last night, watching the Bradley Cooper movie, Maestro,’ says the Chief Scout, 49.

‘I cry a lot, and I cry more as I’ve gotten older. If men weren’t designed to cry, we wouldn’t have tear ducts.

‘Nature and the good Lord don’t give us many things that don’t have a purpose.’

Hoping to see the King, Kim?

More accustomed to drinking Cosmopolitans in Manhattan, Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall sipped tea at the King’s country retreat at the weekend.

The actress, 67, and her boyfriend, Russell Thomas, a radio engineer 14 years her junior, visited Sandringham where the Royal Family spends Christmas.

‘A lovely day out,’ says Liverpool-born Cattrall, who said that she and Thomas had watched the Coronation together.

Sadly, Charles was not at Sandringham so Kim will have to make a return visit.
