Prince Harry’s ‘laughable’ act in Nigeria ‘diminishes him in eyes of the world’

Prince Harry has been slammed as “laughable” by a sharp-tongued critic for his actions during his recent jaunt to Nigeria with wife Meghan Markle.

The pair, who famously ditched their Royal duties back in 2020, have been accused of playing pretend royals during their tour to promote the Invictus Games.

Royal commentator Maureen Callahan didn’t mince her words when she spoke to GB News, tearing into Harry for “standing at attention” during the national anthem as if he was inspecting troops at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Despite being stripped of his military titles after stepping back from Royal life, Harry’s posture suggested otherwise, she said.

Maureen told GB News: “It is so laughable and further diminishes Harry in the eyes of the royals and the world. He is standing at attention as though he still holds his military honours and titles. As if he wasn’t stripped of them when he left.”

She went on to say that the Sussexes seem to be “playing as though they’re still royals”, which she finds ironic given their vocal criticisms of royal life over the past few years.

Adding to the spectacle, Meghan shared a charming yet eyebrow-raising tale about their daughter, Princess Lilibet.

The Duchess of Sussex, alongside Harry, attended various fundraising events and also paid a visit to a school in Abuja backed by their Archewell Foundation.

Meghan Markle, while chatting with students at Lightway Academy, recounted a touching moment with her daughter Lili. “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys,” she shared.

Meghan then described a sweet exchange: “She’s about to turn three. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she [goes], ‘Mama, I see me in you’.”

Meghan continued: “Oh, now she was talking really literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way. And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you.”

She concluded her address by expressing: “As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

However, Callahan expressed skepticism over Meghan’s anecdote, given young Lilibet’s age. She remarked: “Meghan Markle tells this story with a straight face.”

Callahan also critiqued the purpose of Meghan’s trip, saying: “What is the point of this trip? She spent the whole time talking about herself. It is laughable.”
