According to TikTok user @coincollectingwizard, the design features a tiny engraving error on the reverse side. But the mistake is so small, you may not even notice it yourself.

In a recent video to their 128,500 followers, the poster revealed: “I bet you’ve never seen this coin before that’s worth £500 big ones.”

Referring to a 2016 £1 coin with a rare dual dated error, the user then revealed a set of instructions to find the right piece to land you big money.

They said: “You’re looking for a 2016 obverse dated coin with 2017 micro engraving on the reverse. The micro engraving is so small you might need a microscope.

“We understand that at least one example has been sold for £2,500 to a buyer in Spain in 2017. The error is particularly difficult to spot due to the size of the micro engraving.”

The TikTok page advises to keep a keen eye on the coin, especially those minted in 2016.
