Prem flop one sport away from La Liga’s golden boot after gorgeous Real Madrid
Crystal Palace fans might have been rubbing their eyes over the weekend to check if what they were watching was actually happening.
Alexander Sorloth netted one Premier League goal during his spell at Selhurst Park – he quadrupled that number on Sunday. Sorloth netted four times in 17 minutes to leave Jude Bellingham and Real Madrid stunned.
It took the Norwegian’s tally up to 23 for the season – enough to put one hand on the Pichichi award for La Liga’s top goalscorer. The 28-year-old fired past Andriy Lunin in the 39th, 48th, 52nd and 56th minutes of the match, leading his side back from 4-1 down to take a 4-4 draw.

Bellingham, who himself was in the hunt for the award, could only watch on in horror from the Los Blancos bench.
Artem Dovbyk, who has been scoring for fun for high-flying Girona, also drew a blank over the weekend. And that left the door open for Sorloth, who has now scored six goals in three games with a brace against Sevilla two weeks ago.
What do you think about the Crystal Palace flop potentially winning the La Liga top goalscorer award? Let us know in the comments section
Sorloth is now two goals clear of Dovbyk at the top of the standings with one game left of the season. Sorloth’s Villarreal will square off with CA Osasuna while Girona face Granada.
Bellingham is third in the rankings, but he might have eyes on the Champions League final next month. Real have already crowned themselves champions of Spain – and they’ll be looking to reclaim their European crown against Borussia Dortmund.
Real have hardly had an easy run to the final – claiming the scalps of defending champions Manchester City and Bayern Munich en route to Wembley.
