Man Utd ‘already determined to sack Erik ten Hag after FA Cup remaining vs Man City’

Manchester United have reportedly decided to sack Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup final.

The Red Devils have endured a terrible season having recorded their lowest-ever Premier League finish of eighth place, as well as being dumped out bottom of their Champions League group.

While they face Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday (May 25), Ten Hag’s future is already said to have been decided, even if they pull off a shock win against their rivals at Wembley.

According to The Guardian, United co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have decided to replace Ten Hag. Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank and Graham Potter are reportedly under consideration for the Old Trafford job.

Ten Hag won the Carabao Cup and finished third last season in his first year in the job since leaving Ajax, but United have struggled in an injury-hit campaign and have failed to build upon his early work.

The decision would represent the most significant action since Ratcliffe and INEOS completed the purchase of a 27.7 per cent stake from the Glazer family last December when they took over football operations at the club. They have wasted no time in reshaping United’s executive structure at the club and have begun plans to rebuild and renovate the surrounding area of Old Trafford.

United’s only remaining chance of playing European football next season depends on victory in the cup final, which would see them qualify for the Europa League.
