Erik ten Hag names ‘ultimate’ workforce as sacking rumours swirl and followers make similar joke
Manchester United fans have all made the same joke that Erik ten Hag has named his final Red Devils team.
United are back down at Wembley on Saturday afternoon as they look to win their first silverware of the season in the FA Cup final. However local rivals, and defending champions, Manchester City stand in their way as they look to complete the double.
And as the team news was announced for Saturday’s showpiece, United fans joked it was the last Ten Hag would have to name his squad. One fan responded on X, formerly known as Twitter: “If this truly is Ten Hag’s last game as manager. This is the lineup I would choose any day of the week!”

According to The Guardian, the Red Devils have decided to sack Ten Hag regardless of the result of Saturday’s showpiece.
If Ten Hag is to get his hands on the FA Cup, it won’t be the first time the Red Devils have sacked their manager in wake of the triumph. Back in 2016, legendary Dutch boss Louis van Gaal was given his marching orders after leading his side to glory.
According to the report, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to usher in his new INEOS era – and that starts with installing his man in the hot seat at Old Trafford. Sir Jim purchased a minority stake in the club last December when he assumed control of football operations.
