Ruth’s pride and joy – a dining room fit for hosting

Often being featured on Ruth’s Instagram, the home’s dining room is certainly the star of the show for the presenter.

Featuring a long oval table to sit nine people, with cream and black padded seats, the room boasts a large white tiled floor.

With plenty of natural light coming in, a large window sits to the end of the room.

While fancy glassware, alcohol, and family photos adorn a glossy glass cabinet to the left of the room.

Decorating the room for every occasion, Ruth often kits it out with balloons and celebratory decorations for birthdays and events.

The Loose Women panellist has revealed on social media that it’s family tradition for her to decorate the table for each milestone.

A spacious living room

There’s certainly no shortage of space in Ruth and Eamonn’s lounge, which features wooden floors and a muted nude colour scheme.

A collection of nude and brown cushions sit around the comfortable looking L-shaped sofa, which takes the centre spot.

No one in the family is left out either, as a star-printed bed sits beside the sofa for their beloved rescue pup Maggie.

The former couple kept cosy with two fire places, with one in the living room, sitting along the way integrated into the wall underneath the television.

Appearing to create another lounge area, the other is a stunning marble fire place surrounded by mood lighting and a flat screen TV.

A sprawling green garden

Perfect for the warmer months, Ruth and Eamonn have plenty of space in their well maintained garden.

Their range of stunning outdoor furniture includes two charcoal grey sofas facing one another, decorated with lime green cushions.

While a matching coffee table sits in front of the chair, which is enclosed by perfectly trimmed bushes and trees around the perimeter of the space.

A very neat garden path leads into the area, with prism-shaped bushes leading the way on each side.

A spiral staircase fit for purpose

Close pal of the ex-couple Rylan Clark previously took to Instagram to show himself trying out Eamonn’s purpose-fit stair lift.

The home has a gorgeous spiral staircase with wooden panel flooring, a glossy bannister and ground spotlights on each step.

Fit for Eamonn amid his crippling health woes, the stairlift helps to aid the broadcaster as he battles with chronic back pain.

In spring 2021, Eamonn first started experiencing severe back pain, which came out of nowhere, and left him reliant on a walking stick.

After discovering it was three slipped discs that affected the movement of his right leg, things took a turn for the worse when, last May, he flew to Belfast to host an event in honour of close friend, broadcasting legend Gloria Hunniford.

He ended up in A&E at the city’s Royal Victoria Hospital, after his spinal problems caused bladder and bowel issues.

Eamonn was immediately admitted for emergency surgery, only for the operation to be postponed at the last minute, when the surgeon decided it was ‘too complicated.’

He later went down for a spinal and neck operation in September 2022.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Eamonn told how a scan first revealed the three protruding discs, explaining: ‘I still thought it would go away, but it didn’t. The knock-on effect was that I lost a lot of use in my right leg.

‘I got epidural injections, which helped to a degree, but didn’t cure the problem. I started using a stick, so life was already becoming more curtailed.’

‘The spine and all the nerves that lead off it affect so many other things, which he felt needed to be addressed first. I was crushed. I had been in severe pain for a year, and I desperately hoped this might be the answer.’
