Rory McIlroy is a household name in the sporting world.

However, the Northern Irishman’s been making headlines recently for reasons unrelated to his prowess on the green. The 35 year-old star has ended his decade-long relationship with Erica Stoll, filing for divorce on May 13 in Palm Beach County, USA.

Now, whispers of a new romance are swirling around McIlroy and CBS golf reporter Amanda Balionis, who has been spotted sans wedding ring in her latest social media snaps. Given his affluent lifestyle and golfing talent, McIlroy’s personal life has always piqued the interest of both die-hard and casual golf fans.

McIlroy’s staggering net worth has earned him a spot on the Sunday Times Rich List as one of the top 40 wealthiest individuals under 40 in the UK. Coming in at number 13, the former US Open champion is estimated to be worth a whopping £225million.

And like any sports superstar, McIlroy boasts an impressive property portfolio. His recent high-profile divorce has brought one of his most notable properties into the limelight.

Rory McIlroy’s plush Jupiter, Florida pad is a sight to behold, boasting an infinity pool, games room, tennis court, home cinema, recording studio and top-notch gym. The 13,000-square-foot mansion, nestled in the exclusive Bear’s Club golf community, also features a six-car garage, according to The Mail, notable neighbours also include tennis ace Serena Williams and basketball legend Michael Jordan.

McIlroy snapped up the property from golfing great Ernie Els for a cool $11 million back in 2012. Today, it’s thought to be worth twice that. But this isn’t his only impressive abode, in 2019, he reportedly splashed out $12.3 million on a sprawling mansion in La Quinta, California.

This stunning property boasts six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and jaw-dropping views of the Santa Rosa mountains. But McIlroy’s property portfolio doesn’t stop there. He owns several other properties worldwide.

Among them is a grand estate in County Down, Northern Ireland. Dating back to the 19th century, it sits on a 200-acre plot and comes complete with a lake, tennis court and private golf course. He also has a flat in New York and a villa in the UAE.

But one of his most impressive properties is one he bought in his hometown of Holywood, Northern Ireland. The lavish property, nestled on a 7.5-acre plot, boasts six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a fully kitted-out gym and even a tennis court. It also features a guest house and a sizeable garage that houses Rory’s impressive fleet of cars.

When it comes to motors, the golfing ace is no stranger to luxury.

McIlroy is the proud owner of a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, valued at around £240,000, and a Range Rover Sport, which can cost up to £100,000 brand new. He also has a BMW i8 in his collection, worth roughly £100,000.

The Ferrari F430, no longer in production by the Italian manufacturer, is now estimated to be worth between £80,000-£90,000. According to Golf and Car, McIlroy’s most extravagant purchase appears to be a stunning Lamborghini Aventador, with prices starting from a cool £390,000, this takes the estimated value of the golfer’s car collection to over £900,000.

But it’s not just cars where McIlroy splashes out. The sportsman is known to have an exquisite collection of timepieces, being one of the ambassadors for Omega.

The total value of his watch collection remains undisclosed, but in 2020 he sported a unique gold Omega watch, worth nearly £30,000, during the major Grand Slam at the Masters.

Despite the turmoil in his personal life, McIlroy is preparing for the third major of the summer, with the 2024 US Open just around the corner. The tournament will be held at Pinehurst’s renowned Course No. 2 from Thursday, June 13 to Sunday, June 16, where the Northern Irish star will once again compete against the world’s top players.

However, the four-time major winner started his pre-tournament press conference for the PGA Championship with a clear message that he would not be discussing his private life and emphasised that he was ‘ready to play’. McIlroy ended the tournament in joint 12th place and currently sits third in the world rankings.
