‘Balaclava-clad gang of teenagers throw rocks and eggs at our home day-after-day’
A terrified family say they live in constant fear as masked teen gangs attack their home and hurl racial slurs at them on the streets.
Fatmata and Umair Habib say they have been subjected to a four-year reign of terror by yobs who loiter outside their Liverpool home, litter their driveway and pelt windows with rocks and eggs, the ECHO reports
They’ve reported the antics to the police but say nothing has been done. “They throw rocks or eggs at our windows and doors every single day,” says Mrs Habib. “We hear the boom when we are inside.”

Having purchased a camera to cover the happenings around the house, she said: “We have called the police who told us they need evidence, but we have shown them the footage but nothing is done. For them it’s like watching a movie, but this is our reality.”
The family moved to Liverpool from London eight years ago and despite having “lovely” neighbours they say the balaclava-clad gangs hanging around the area are making them miserable.
The couple, who both work at Aintree University Hospital, told the Liverpool ECHO their 13-year-old autistic son has also been repeatedly targeted on his way home from school.
His distraught mother revealed: “The abuse has been ongoing for over four years. When we moved here everything was okay, we have lovely neighbours. We are the type of people who mind our own business. We both work full-time at Aintree Hospital. But the children started pushing over our bins and throwing rubbish over the front drive.”
Several recordings captured by the camera installed at the front of the house show hooded teens outside the property, lobbing objects at it. This visual record spans a timeline tracing back as far as 2021.
During the Easter break, a gang of masked yobs terrorised a family by repeatedly booting their front door. The mum, Mrs Habib, was alone with her kids as her hubby was at work. Her terrified children screamed, “stop, you are scaring us”, but it took the cops a whopping three hours to show up.
Stressed to the max, Mrs Habib’s been off work for three months. “I can’t think, I can’t sleep. I’m so scared thinking what will happen. My family in London are so scared. I have a job that I love, my husband loves his job, my kids love Liverpool.”
A representative for her housing association, Riverside, said it was “truly sorry” to hear of the family’s distress, saying: At Riverside, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory language or actions that could cause a hostile environment.”
The spokesperson said it does “not tolerate behaviour that prevents our customers from feeling secure in their neighbourhood.” It also promised to arrange a home visit to discuss how to move forward with the family.
Merseyside Police Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said the force had studied CCTV footage, spoken to witnesses and carried out extensive enquiries to identify the offenders but has been unable to do so.
