How Jess Glynne and Alex Scott are the final word energy couple
Alex Scott and Jess Glynne turned heads with their red-carpet debut at the amFAR Gala in Cannes.
The event marked the first time the couple, who have dated since May 2023, posed with one another at such an event – as they have often attended events separately since going public with their relationship.
The sports commentator, 39, and singer, 34, revealed their romance with the world last November after six months of dating in secret.
And despite attending several high-profile events together since they announced their relationship, the glamorous couple didn’t have a single red carpet shot together until Thursday.
Despite this being their red carpet debut, the power couple now known as ‘JAlex’ appeared like seasoned pros as they posed up a storm together and looked picture perfect.

Before finding one another, Jess and Alex were both on the lookout for love. Back in March 2023, the former Arsenal footballer said she was ‘struggling’ to look for a partner and even took advice from Jamie Redknapp in the hope of finding her perfect match.
She explained she was ‘open’ to getting to know both men and women and ‘never closes herself off’ when it comes to dating.
After ‘struggling’ with some dating apps, Alex said her pal and former footballer Jamie told her about the app Raya, which is commonly used by celebrities.
Speaking about her dating life, she told Grazia magazine: ‘Its really hard [to find someone] cause people have a load of preconceptions. I struggle with apps.
‘For me, it’s all about connection that instant connection with someone and conversation and I’m like ‘Oh wow.’
‘I remember Jamie Redknapp telling me ‘There’s a dating app Raya…’ So I was on it but I was to scared to connect with anyone.’
Meanwhile, Jess previously spoke about ‘not putting a label’ on her sexuality in an 2015 interview with The Daily Star.
She said: ‘I’ve only ever been with one girl in my life and that’s the girl from my album [2015’s I Cry When I Laugh]
Despite the couple dating since May last year, they had not been photographed on the red carpet together
The former Arsenal player and pop singer went public with their romance from November 2023
After going public with her relationship, Jess said that the reception from others has been positive
‘I’m never going to put a label on my sexuality and people should never feel uncomfortable about who they love’.
Jess said her debut album was inspired about her relationship with a girl.
She said during an interview with The Independent: ‘The songs on this album are about a girl. I would never lie about a situation I’ve been in. I feel like with the album I’m putting my cards out on the table.
‘I wouldn’t want it to be misconstrued and the fact of the matter is those songs are about a girl. I was heartbroken about a girl, it wasn’t a guy.’
In October, reports surfaced that Alex and Jess were in a secret relationship, and that they are ‘really happy’ together.
At the time, the football pundit and the singer were said to be ‘really happy’ to ‘officially be an item’ and were pictured embracing during a coffee date in London.
The former Arsenal player smiled as she shared a warm hug with Jess, who cut a casual figure in an oversized hoodie and dark jeans on their low-key outing.
The duo both attended the premiere of David Beckham’s Netflix documentary in October but didn’t pose for a photo together.
The London-based couple often share romantic images of each other on their Instagram stories
A friend told The Sun: ‘Alex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn’t want to rush things or go public too soon.
‘But they’re officially an item now and seem really happy. They are both strong, independent women with a shared passion and respect of their respective careers, supporting one another from the sidelines.
‘It’s still early days for them, but they’ve met one another’s mates and everyone is super happy for them.’
Alex and Jess sat next to each other during day two of Wimbledon back in July and in August they were pictured enjoying a drink at the pub.
They have openly cuddled up for more lowkey events, such as Chioma Nnadi’s Vogue party.
At the last red carpet event the couple attended, the BRIT Awards in March, they did not pose together.
In December 2023, they attended the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year Awards, again not posing together, though they took a sweet selfie.
Alex and Jess confirmed their relationship in November 2023, when they were snapped kissing in public
Three days later, Alex used this shot and more to go Instagram official with Jess, posting her on her Instagram grid for the first time.
In November 2023, days after their romance was revealed, they still played it coy at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, posing separately.
The month prior, they were glamour personified in red and black at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
On October 11, they responded to what were then just rumours about their relationship by dressing up in matching black lace at the Attitude Awards.
Then, in November last year, Alex and Jess finally confirmed their romance as they were seen sharing a passionate kiss.
The sports presenter and the singer were seen packing on the PDA as they had a steamy smooch while strolling through central London together.
Jess was seen walking with her arm wrapped around Alex’s shoulders and the pair appeared to be in jovial spirits as they smiled and laughed together.
They then stopped to share a kiss and a sweet hug before going their separate ways near Great Portland Street Station.
After the pair went public Jess gushed that their high-profile relationship has only attracted ‘super-positive’ attention.
The hitmaker, who went Instagram official with the football presenter at Christmas last year, said she ‘didn’t know what to expect’ when they got together.
Having always kept previous relationships ‘very private’ – she happily revealed that the couple ‘haven’t received any negativity at all’.
She told The Times: ‘It is a different kind of attention for me, but so far all of that attention has been super-positive.
The pair established their status as a power couple at the amFar Cannes Gala 30th edition at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc
‘I have never put my personal life in the public eye before, so I had no idea what to expect. Probably due to me not being in relationships with anyone famous, I had always managed to keep that side of me very private.
‘The interest was inevitable with us, but you know there isn’t a negative, because we haven’t had any negativity at all.
‘We both give so much in what we do that coming home to your friends, to your family, to your partner, that’s the ‘you’ time. I never want to sell that short.’
The Take Me Home artist said their romance is going ‘really good’ and she is ‘feeling very comfortable’ with the ex Arsenal player.
Speaking to Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast, Jess said: ‘The work that I’ve done on myself has actually settled me inside and it’s allowed me to enter a relationship where I feel very comfortable and I’m just me. I’m unapologetically me.
‘It has allowed me to be really happy in a new relationship. I think love is a really scary subject and it’s normally something I keep quite distant.
‘But it’s a nice thing to be able to embrace someone and a relationship that feels really genuinely good.’
However, Jess said that having a relationship in the public eye is still hard and she likes to try and keep her ‘personal life to herself’.
She continued: ‘It’s something that I’m getting used to. I do love to somehow keep my personal life to myself. It’s so important.
‘Even though we’re both in this public space, what we have, that’s ours. I feel like that’s something I will always do.
‘People want so much from you and what is so beautiful is that we both feel like that way and it’s something we will stick to and keep to ourselves.’
In April, Alex opened up about her relationship with Jess, adding that she is loving being ‘more vulnerable’ in her relationship.
The famous duo looked cozy as they shared a plate of traditional food on Burns Night in January this year
The ex-footballer spoke in a candid interview with Women’s Health UK where she lifted the lid on her bond with singer Jess.
Alex said: ‘I’m in this bubble at the moment… I am more open to accepting and being more vulnerable and I’m absolutely enjoying this stage.
‘I’m enjoying being like, okay, I’m just gonna roll with this. I think, before, I was very walls up. All those walls have, like, come down.’
But it wasn’t until Thursday that the couple finally posed on the red carpet together.
Alex donned a gorgeous pale rose gold off-shoulder semi-sheer gown which she paired with large chandelier earrings.
Jess wore a short-sleeved one-shoulder smooth white gown belted with matching rope and wore stunning silver earrings.
The couple kept their fingers interlocked even when they moved outside for more beautiful photos.
It’s not taken long for the public to acknowledge the pair’s stellar looks and endearing personalities, confirming their position as a power couple, or, for the more serious fans, JAlex.
