FA Cup final match-winner Kobbie Mainoo showed his quick thinking isn’t just something he displays on the pitch, with a move in Man United‘s post-match celebrations.

Manioo’s goal in the first half at Wembley, with United already 1-0 up, turned out to be the winner as Erik ten Hag‘s side bested rivals Man City to bag the FA Cup.

The United midfielder proved to be hero during the celebrations, too, as the players basked in their win inside Wembley’s changing room.

With celebrations running wild, Lisandro Martinez gathered everyone together for a picture with the trophy, before spraying the squad and manager with a customary bottle of Champagne.

However, instead of mucking in with the fun of the moment, Mainoo instead grabbed  teammate Amad Diallo and moved him out of the way of the alcohol being sprayed.

The reason he thought to move Diallo out of the way of the oncoming fizz heading hiss way, is dow to the 21-year-old’s Muslim faith – a religion that has strict rules in consuming alcohol.

So, while the rest of the United squad embraced the Champagne being dished out on them, Mainoo and Diallo remained on the side, after the young England midfielder came to the aid of his teammate.

The celebrations are set to continue over the next few days after United bagged their thirteenth FA Cup gong and confirmed European football for next season.

Alejandro Garnacho got the Red Devils up and running in the first half, capitalising on a defence mix-up between Stefan Ortega and Josip Gvardiol, before Mainoo doubled their lead before half time.

City rallied late on thanks to a Jeremy Doku consolation, but United hung out and prevented their rivals in making more history and landed back-to-back doubles.

The win presents a big dilemma for minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who according to reports was set to sack Ten Hag this week, whatever the result at Wembley. With the likes of Kieran McKenna, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino linked with the Dutchman’s job.
