General election newest: Record migration bringing sectarian politics, warns Farage – watch Rishi Sunak speech dwell

Record migration is bringing sexist “sectarian” politics to Britain, Nigel Farage has warned.

The honorary Reform president gave his first major speech of the election campaign in Dover after announcing he would not stand as an MP but instead appear around the country to boost support for Richard Tice’s party.

Mr Farage, the former Ukip leader, warned of a “small but worryingly large growing number of predominantly young men in this country, adopting radical views – views that are not just un-British but views that are frankly increasingly anti-British”.

“You might have noticed that Angela Rayner yesterday was campaigning in her constituency begging, begging a group of Muslim leaders to please vote Labour. You’ll have noticed not a single woman in the room.

“So we’re moving into an age in our inner cities and towns I’m worried to say of sectarian politics, with women completely excluded.”

He also denied he was a “chicken” after deciding not to stand, insisting he would need a lot of time and voter data to do so, while insisting he did not plan to destroy the Tory Party because “they’ve destroyed themselves, they don’t need my help”.
