Mike Tyson breaks silence after medical emergency forward of Jake Paul battle

Mike Tyson has spoken for the first time since suffering a health scare during a flight on Monday.

The boxing legend, 57, has brushed off his medical emergency, claiming to have already bounced back to full health.

In a sly dig to his next opponent, 27-year-old Jake Paul, Tyson quipped he won’t even need to be 100% to see off the challenge in the ring.

Taking to X on Tuesday, he wrote: “Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”

Tyson was in need of a doctor after a health scare on a flight from Miami to LA, just before his rumble with Jake Paul.

The heavyweight champ is set to clash with the YouTube sensation in Texas this July but hit a snag when he felt unwell on the plane last Sunday. In Touch Weekly reported that an urgent call for a doctor blared out over the tannoy.

Tyson apparently got dizzy due to an ulcer acting up with just half an hour to go before landing. The flight ended up two hours late, but it seems the air con was playing up, not just Tyson.

An onlooker said: “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor – the message even came on everyone’s screens,” the Mirror reported.

Supportive messages have since come flooding in for the long-retired professional boxer and they’re exactly what you’d expect.

“Man could beat his ass while sleep walking. King,” one woman commented.

Another said: “You could be Jake even if you have Covid. xD.”

Others were keen to show a bit more concern for Mike’s health. One wrote: “Mr. Tyson please take care of yourself. There are people who look up to you with gratitude and fondness. Whether you fight or not you will always be a champion on so many levels.”
