Rishi Sunak performs soccer with children – however folks say he is ‘epitome of ineffective’
Rishi Sunak had another go at appearing relatable, this time struggling through a simple football drill in front of a group of children.
Eyebrows were raised when the Prime Minister, fully kitted out in his official clobber, staggered around the generously spaced out cones on a football pitch in his shiny leather shoes.
It follows various attempts for the PM to appear relatable, most recently when he asked a group of brewery workers in Wales if they were looking forward to “all the football” later this summer as a potential source of revenue.

Wales, of course, have not qualified for Euro 2024 in Germany.
Even still, and perhaps bravely (brazenly?), Mr Sunak attempted to run with the ball on a visit to Chesham United Football Club as he hit the campaign trail.
“Bringing the whole team to relegation,” one viewer said after the inevitable footage made its way to social media. Another person added: “Looking at his limbs is like watching 4 chopsticks having an argument with each other. Which they all lose.”
“The epitome of useless,” chimed in another. “Can he actually do anything?” another asked.

Another said: “Starmer would out-dribble him. Captain Tom would push him close.”
Youngsters looked on as the PM nearly tripped over the ball. A smiling Mr Sunak – a fan of Southampton FC, who were promoted to the Premier League on Sunday (May26) – was then shown shaking hands with young footballers.
The football club is in the Chesham & Amersham constituency – a seat the Liberal Democrats won from the Conservatives in a by-election three years ago.

After footage was shared by ITV reporter Harry Horton, one viewer commented: “Controls the football like he controls his party.”
And one connoisseur of the Beautiful Game wrote: “No balance. He’s focussing too much on the right.” Sunak fancies himself as a bit of a connoisseur, too.
At a hustings event in Exeter in 2022, he was asked what work he would have been involved in if he did not enter politics.
“I’m a massive football fan, I’m from Southampton and if I would get to be able to run Southampton [I would do that],” he said.
