Inside the feud of Matt Le Tissier and his son and daughter-in-law

A joke by Matt Le Tissier’s daughter-in-law Alex about her status as the ‘black sheep of the family’ harks back to a recent family fallout which started after she set up an OnlyFans account to make ends meet.

Alex Le Tissier, who shares four children with Matt’s son, Mitchell, set up the profile in 2022 – a decision that went down badly with the Southampton legend.

She referenced the row on Sunday by writing on X: ‘It’s fun being the black infamous sheep of the family sometimes.’

Earlier, Matt had posted a picture of himself at the playoff final at Wembley alongside two members of his family – prompting trolls to point out Alex’s absence and bombard him with her raunchy photos.

Alex said she’d written the tweet to ‘poke fun’ at the ‘banter’ her father-in-law had been receiving over the post.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline last night, she said her father-in-law doesn’t ‘get’ her and Mitch’s relationship.

‘There were periods where we did get along, and that was fine, but I just never really felt like accepted by the family,’ she said, adding that she only begun posting on OnlyFans to make ends meet.

‘We hit a really bad point. My husband, Mitch’s mental health, he had a breakdown, and he didn’t really reach out to the family, because he’s not comfortable telling them.

‘And so he lost a few jobs in a short space of time. And then it literally got to the point where – people don’t believe me – but I had no choice but to do OnlyFans.’

She said her and Mitch’s relationship with his father ‘exploded’ after she set up the account: ‘It was a golden ticket opportunity for them to use an excuse, finally, to just be outwardly really f***ing horrible.’

In 2022, Matt lashed out a his son and and Alex, telling the Sun: ‘I do not want anything to do with them anymore.’

Mitch told the publication at the time: ‘It’s been over a year since I’ve spoken to any of my family including my dad and stepmum.

‘They didn’t take it well. I expected them to disagree with our decision but I would have hoped they were open-minded enough to accept it was ours to make.’

Mitch continued to explain that his father had ended communications after enquiring about Alex’s OnlyFans career, with Mitch adding it is ‘upsetting’ that Matt now doesn’t have contact with him or his wife.

Despite the breakdown of their relationship, Alex told MailOnline she is willing to ‘try’ and repair the familial bonds if her husband ever wants to get back in touch with his father.

She said: ‘I’ve always said to my husband, that’s your dad. And it’s not even to do with me.

‘It’s the conspiracy theory side of things. My husband’s really upset with that, because he just doesn’t understand all that. He just doesn’t recognise his dad anymore.’

She continued: ‘[Matt] never used to believe in God, and that’s fine. I don’t think that’s a particularly harmful thing. But he’s just changed so much, and talks about things other than sport a lot of the time, which is not like him.

‘And so from his point of view, he’s like I don’t understand how much has changed. And I don’t understand why the family aren’t stepping in and doing anything.’

From suggesting the government planned lockdown when it was warm to his anti-vaccine rants, Matt appears to be a far cry from his days calling last minute winners and controversial decisions in the biggest league in the world.

Alex said: ‘We’re parents ourselves. I’ve said it would have to take a lot for me to not speak to my own kids and grandchildren.

‘I know it’s bad, but when you’re a mum, your child could probably kill someone, and, I know it’s awful, but you’d still want to visit them in prison, because that love that you have for your child is just so strong.

‘So just as a parent, I don’t understand that. And I think that’s my frustration with it all.’

After referring to herself as the ‘black sheep’ of the family on Sunday, Alex later clarified her statement by adding: ‘I wasn’t complaining about not being at Wembley.

‘You could offer me a lifetime supply of flaming hot Cheetos I still wouldn’t go. The black sheep tweet was me poking fun at all the banter ppl were slinging at him.

‘It was just a laugh. Power to the ppl on Twitter making a scene it was very enjoyable to watch. I’m upset ‘Where’s Alex?’ wasn’t trending tho. Do better guys.’

The OnlyFans model also published a separate message on X, in which she wrote: ‘In all seriousness though they didn’t want anyone knowing about me.

‘I don’t like Taylor Swift’s music much but the quote where she said in an interview about ”you don’t have to forgive or forget” and I don’t think I ever will move on.

‘So my name being flooded in the comments [of Le Tissier’s post]? *chefs kiss* perfect revenge because people do the work for me now. I made my own f******* name.’

MailOnline reported last year that Alex and Mitchell are in a monogamous relationship.

But the rest of the family do not see the couple’s children, something Alex told MailOnline is ‘sad’.

‘They don’t see my children, unfortunately, because of all of this, which is really sad.

‘I don’t ever say anything negative about any of them to my kids, because I think that’s just really harmful when people do that.

‘But it’s difficult because my kids, you know, they miss them, and they want to see them, but there’s just absolutely no contact whatsoever.’

The family row blew up again on the weekend after fans commented on Le Tissier’s post on X, with some making reference to his daughter-in-law in the replies – with the ex-footballer seemingly blocking one user who mentioned her.

One X user posted a screen grab showing that Le Tissier had blocked them, commenting four laughing-face emojis.

Another fan replied: ‘You’re not the only one’ While another added: ‘Alex already said that he blocks anyone that mentions her or is associated to her.

‘He’s a nut job but I don’t blame him. Rather wear a tinfoil hat than have to call that family. Lol.’

‘I opened up my laptop just to check my OnlyFans and my subscriptions were going mental,’ Alex said of her reaction to Matt’s post, initially unaware it had been shared.

‘Usually that means I’ve either gone viral or I’m in the press. And as far as I was aware, nothing was happening, and I was going, “What is going on?”

‘Someone said to me, one of my friends, “Matt’s uploaded this picture with his daughter and his wife, and there’s just a flood of comments about you”, and I was just like, “What?” Then people were quoting it and talking about me, and then I think two people’s quotes or posts about it went viral.

‘It was because of me that the post went viral. And I mean, that must have driven them crazy, but, it was kind of funny.

‘I think the problem is now is that neither of us really ever probably thought this many people would be talking about me, knowing me. Doing Getting Filthy Rich, and going viral quite a lot, people talking about me, and I don’t think the family would have pictured that either. So now we’re just constantly connected.

‘I’m one of those people, I was laughing my head off, because everyone was like, “Where’s Alex? Where’s Alex?” I think it keeps regularly happening on his posts and it drives him up the wall.

‘But I just think at some point, is blocking people constantly the right thing? If they’re being nasty, yeah, I get that, but I just think at some point maybe they have to accept that, OK, they got this wrong, and I’m actually doing quite well for myself now.

‘I think they’re pretending I don’t exist, and it’s not really working out.’

Later on in the day, after Saints had secured their return to the top-flight, Le Tissier posted another picture on his X account, showing him celebrating the play-off final victory with Armstrong.

He congratulated the Saints forward on his goal, before writing ‘what a day.’

He would later comment on the social media platform: ‘Wow, what a day! My team, back in the Premier League and one of my best mates Richard Bland wins the US PGA Senior championship on his debut.’

Le Tissier has raised eyebrows among some online this year having voiced his opinions on several conspiracy theories.

The ex-Saints midfielder bizarrely hinted that the government planned the 2020 lockdown to stop people going outside and enjoying the sunshine in April and drew criticism from some online for this theory.
