Woman ‘assaulted by Christian Brueckner at 10’ testifies at his trial
A woman who was sexually assaulted by the prime Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner has revealed that he grinned at her while performing a horrific sex act on her at an Algarve beach when she was just ten years old.
The woman, now 27, told the German sexual abuser’s trial that he ‘lay in wait’ behind a rock on a beach in the Portuguese town of Salema in 2007.
The woman, a German who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she remembered Brueckner, 47, for his wide grin and distinctive grin.
‘I remember a few large birthmarks distributed over the body, on the back and on the legs. Just spread over, not one place but many across his back. It was just the birthmarks which I noticed, and this grinning,’ she said, according to the Mirror.
She said she was left ‘distressed’ and in tears after the assault, which saw Brueckner, currently on trial for a string of rapes and indecent assaults in Portugal between 2000 and 2017, grabbing her by the wrists and performing an indecent sex act on her.

Brueckner, currently serving a seven year sentence for sexually assaulting a pensioner, allegedly told her to ‘look here’ as he performed the sex act on her, just yards away from where her parents were sat, unaware of what was happening.
The woman told the court: ‘The man came, he climbed down from the rock, and he asked me what I was called. I said my name and then he grabbed my hands.’
She added that her family contacted the police following the attack, and she helped detectives draw up an E-fit image.
But it wasn’t until 2019 when police contacted her again, and said that they had identified a potential suspect.
While she told the court she was only 50% sure that Brueckner was her attacker, despite identifying him out of ‘six or seven’ images, she said that her own ‘research’ made her conclude that he was the man who attacked her.

But the rapist’s defence team accused the woman on ‘coupling’ her research with her memories.
They also criticised police for showing her pictures of Brueckner and his cars, claiming this rendered her testimony ‘simply worthless.’
Brueckner has denied all charges and any involvement in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
The German woman’s testimony in court comes after an Irish woman revealed how she still physically suffers from a brutal sex attack allegedly perpetrated by Christian Brueckner 20 years ago.
Former tour guide Hazel Behan, 40, who has waived her anonymity, described her horrific ordeal at the hands of the convicted rapist and paedophile through tears.
Ms Behan told the court in Braunschweig, Germany, that she had been raped in June 2004 by a masked man who later whipped her and filmed her in her apartment in Praia da Roch, just a few minutes from the resort of Praia da Luz on the Algarve coast from where then-three-year-old Madeleine was snatched in May 2007.
The Irish former tour guide, who was reduced to tears as Brueckner’s defence team conducted a brutal cross-examination, revealed she was still suffered bleeding as result of the horrific sex attack.
