Red Bull broaden their footballing empire to the UK with stake in ex-Prem facet
Red Bull’s footballing empire is set to make its way to UK shores as the energy drink company has purchased a minority stake in Leeds United.
Leeds announced, on Thursday (30 May) that Red Bull will join the existing ownership group. However, unlike other football clubs Red Bull have invested in, Leeds will not changed their name to fit the branding.
An online statement read: “Leeds United is proud to announce a new multi-year agreement with Red Bull, making them the club’s front of shirt partner starting next season.”

Red Bull have a sporting empire that has seen them invest in numerous football teams – including RB Leipzig in Germany, Red Bull Salzburg in Austria and MLS side New York Red Bulls.
The energy drinks company also own a successful F1 team – which boasts reigning world champion Max Verstappen – as well as investing heavily in extreme sports.
Red Bull’s investment come after Leeds suffered yet more play-off heartache after they were beaten in the Championship play-off final by Southampton. The Peacocks will now have to spend at least another 12 months outside of the Premier League.
