Ederson handed Man City switch ultimatum with profitable Saudi supply on desk

Ederson will have to hand in a transfer request if he wants to leave Manchester City.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been offered a lucrative deal to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad and is weighing up his future.

It’s understood Ederson would like a fresh challenge elsewhere, having won all there is to win with Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.

But Guardiola does not want to lose Ederson – and the club are not actively looking to sell him. It means Ederson will have to force the issue to engineer an exit route from the Etihad – and ask for a transfer.

Guardiola has made it clear in the past he will not stand in the way of any players who want to leave City, like he did with Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer.

Manchester City could be without Ederson next season

If Ederson does leave City ahead of next season, Guardiola would be prepared to make Stefan Ortega his No.1 keeper and sign someone else as back up.

City, meanwhile, would be willing to allow midfield outcast Kalvin Phillips to join another club on a season-long loan. Phillips spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, but the move turned into a disaster.

The England international is a target of a host of clubs, including Everton, Newcastle and Aston Villa. He is in no rush to make a decision on his next move, but City bosses have told him they would sanction another loan deal if necessary.
