Snow in June as Brits brace for chilly snap subsequent week with UK summer season on maintain

The UK is bracing for a cold snap as weather maps predict an icy blast hitting the country in the coming days.

Yesterday, Brits basked in sunny weather following a gloomy start, with high pressure dominating the UK skies. Overnight temperatures remained in double digits for most, although some areas experienced a touch of frost.

However, the mercury is set to drop once again, with weather maps indicating a snowy June for some parts of Britain. Glasgow is expected to see snow flurries on June 4, while other regions are set for rain showers.

This unseasonal weather is forecasted to persist for two days before giving way to drier and warmer conditions from June 6. The Met Office’s prediction for this period reads: “The first part of the period most likely characterised by showers, sometimes blustery, occasionally heavy with thunderstorms, sometimes forming larger bands of rain.”

Raining
And for the rest of us., there’s rain

“Showers most often across north-western areas but all areas likely to see some, generally lighter in the south with a good deal of brighter spells around these. Temperatures rather cool.”, reports the Mirror.

As we head into the new week, the weather outlook remains uncertain, though there is an increased likelihood of periods of rain breaking into showers spreading from the west, accompanied by fresh or strong winds at times.

“The southeast of the UK will probably continue to be drier with western areas more likely seeing the most rainfall. Temperatures mainly around normal, feeling cool in the west with best chance of warmer temperatures in the east.”

Today’s forecast reads: “Mist and fog clearing quickly to leave plenty of warm sunshine in England and Wales. Becoming cloudier for the north with rain and drizzle on western slopes in Scotland.”

Rain
It’s going to be a wet one

This comes as bookies have cut the odds on this summer being the wettest on record, with weather maps showing a deluge of rain. The odds are now just 7/2 for this summer to make history – but not in a good way, as it’s predicted to be the wettest ever according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.

Alex Apati commented: “We’re strapping in for a record-breaking washout of a summer, with more rain set to batter Brits over the next few weeks.”

This warning comes as the UK is told to brace itself for the arrival of a massive Azores storm, with red-tinted weather maps showing heavy downpours. Brits are being advised to get ready for a soaking, with forecasts predicting up to 25mm of rainfall as shown on maps issued by forecasters at Ventusky.
