Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck share VERY awkward air kiss

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were seen sharing an awkward air kiss as they reunited at his son’s basketball game in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Hustlers star, 54, and the Argo director, 51, arrived separately at a local YMCA to cheer on his 12-year-old son Samuel.

The pair greeted each other outside but opted not to kiss on the lips, instead proceeding to do an air kiss, with Ben seemingly patting his wife on the back, before they headed into the event together.

Afterwards the duo looked glum while grabbing some fast food at the Jack in the Box drive thru, amid ongoing rumors of marital woes.

The outing comes after the singer cancelled her US tour ‘to be with her children, family’ after her album flopped and Netflix movie Atlas was panned by critics.

Also at the event was Affleck’s mom, Christopher Anne ‘Chris’ Boldt, as well as his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52.

Chris later departed the sporting event with her former daughter-in-law. 

During one sweet moment the 13 Going On 30 actress was pictured helping her former mother-in-law get into her car. 

Lopez looked chic in a long-sleeve black top and blue jeans. She wore her honey-toned tresses down for the occasion, and sported lightly tinted sunglasses.

The Maid In Manhattan actress carried a black leather purse with her and donned her signature gold hoops.

Meanwhile the father-of-three — who is Lopez’s fourth husband — looked casual cool in a red t-shirt, blue jeans, sneakers and a red corduroy jacket.

His mom wore a black cardigan over a blue top and matching black pants.

Garner was effortlessly chic in a brown sweater, blue jeans, black loafers and a brown hat.

Earlier in the day, Lopez was seen at a farmer’s market with her 15-year-old child Emme, which could explain why she arrived to the event separately from Affleck. 

Jennifer welcomed Emme – who’s used they/them pronouns since 2022 – and twin brother Maximilian David Muñiz during her seven-year marriage to four-time Grammy winner Marc Anthony, which ended in 2011. 

They wed in 2004 following Lopez’s first shock split with Affleck that same year. Anthony and Lopez separated in 2011 and their divorce was finalized in 2014. 

It’s been a week full of family outings for Affleck. He and his ex-wife were seen together on Saturday, as they attended another one of their son’s games. 

The actor was pictured wearing his wedding ring, despite the ongoing divorce rumors. Meanwhile Ben and Lopez attend his daughter Violet’s graduation ceremony earlier on Thursday.

They were joined by her twins Max and Emme, as well as Ben’s other children.

While strolling through a crowded parking lot, Ben and Jennifer were seen holding hands before leaving in separate cars to return to their own residences.

Beforehand, the stars also were spotted together as they made an appearance at a special graduation bash to celebrate Violet’s milestone. 

The couple – who tied the knot in 2022 – are currently ‘living separately.’ Affleck has been staying in a $100k-a-month rental in Brentwood with Lopez residing in their $60 million mansion in Los Angeles. 

It was recently revealed that the Brentwood home is only a mere two blocks away from the mother of his children, who is reportedly desperately trying to help Ben save his two-year marriage to Lopez. 

Despite their marital woes, a source told People on Friday that Ben and Jennifer ‘still want to put the kids first,’ adding that the two ‘have always been very family-oriented.’

‘The graduation was a big deal. Jennifer wanted to celebrate it,’ the insider said, adding that the strain in their marriage is ‘heartbreaking for her.’

Lopez has also been confiding in Garner according to insiders, who claim the two women fear he is close to breaking his sobriety.

Lopez has been divorced three times. The singer’s first marriage was to Cuban actor Ojani Noa, 49, in 1997. It only lasted 11 months.

She tied the knot again with choreographer Cris Judd, 54, in 2001 but they were divorced by 2003.

She then wed Anthony, before reuniting with Affleck following their divorce.  

Last Friday, Lopez was ‘completely heartsick and devastated’ to announce the cancellation of 30-date This is Me… Live: The Greatest Hits summer tour in order to take ‘time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.’

‘Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary,’ the Emmy-nominated producer – who boasts 392.7M social media followers – wrote on her website.

‘I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…’

Yesterday it was reported that Affleck clashed with Lopez’s team and says she needs to ‘overhaul her career’ following the singer’s string of recent setbacks. 

According to The Sun Ben has been ‘butting heads’ with Jen’s creative team for quite some time leading to tensions behind the scenes.

A source said: ‘[Ben] just wants what’s best for her and feels she’s doing a lot of mediocre projects and is surrounded by yes people who are also sometimes making decisions for her’.

‘Jen is also often doing 50 things at once’.

Before going on to say: ‘Ben is not working as much by choice and she’s overworking – so their priorities are different, even though she has been dedicated to her marriage and kids, she’s very busy’.

Jennifer released This Is Me… Now back in February, and it was accompanied by a musical film called This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and a documentary entitled The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

The album debuted at number 38 on the Billboard chart, her first LP to not make the top 20.

Amid swirling split rumors, PageSix recently claimed Affleck is ready to call an end to his two-year marriage, going as far to claim the decision to tie the knot was down to ‘temporary insanity’.

‘If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,’ the source said.

In recent months, the couple have rarely been seen crossing paths nor spending time together on public outings amid separation rumors.

Lopez was also solo for her co-chair duties at the glitzy Met Gala in New York City on May 6 as many fans were surprised Affleck skipped the event.

Shortly afterwards, it was reported that the pair ‘just couldn’t make it work’ and are headed for a split after less than two years of marriage.

Lopez and Affleck’s love story started in 2002 when they dated while filming the movie Jersey Girl. 

They became engaged the following year but broke up in 2004. They then rekindled their romance in the spring of 2021.

The duo married in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a lavish wedding at his Georgia estate on August 2022.

Garner was notable for her absence at Affleck’s wedding in Georgia, with his brother Casey also declining to attend after saying he had prior parental commitments in Los Angeles.
