Starbucks barista rages over extraordinarily complicated order – however persons are divided

A Starbucks worker has called out a customer for their extremely complicated order.

Taking to Reddit’s MildlyInfuriating subreddit, the barista posted a photo of the order. The huge list of customisations included a medley of syrups, toppings, and even a specific type of cup.

“Starbucks drink I had to do while having a 20 minute wait,” the employee vented. The receipt reveals the concoction was a twist on a white chocolate macchiato nut cold brew. Ordered in a Venti cup with ice, the gut-busting beverage was loaded with extra shots of macadamia syrup, vanilla syrup, dark caramel, white chocolate mocha, and vanilla bean powder.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the customer also wanted heavy cream, whipped cream, a double whammy of caramel and mocha drizzle, cinnamon powder, and a heap of vanilla cold foam on top.

Baffled Redditors were left scratching their heads over the elaborate brew, with one user asking: “What does the first line mean? Is there even coffee in this drink at all? I don’t even understand. It sounds like something you’d make into ice cream.”

A second gobsmacked user confessed: “I don’t understand how people invent these concoctions, I just get paralyzed by the sheer amount of options and go with the default because it’s easier and probably also tastes the best.”

A third chimed in, querying: “How do you even learn that that’s the drink you like? I’m scared to try more than 2 flavours in there. Maybe every once in a while I’ll add cold foam to something.” And a fourth said: “If this the 47 ingredient bulls**t you ask for when you go to Starbucks, I have news for you. You don’t like coffee.”

Some people, however, suggested that you can’t squarely lay the blame solely on the customer if the chain “allows” them to issue such tall orders, putting forth that it is, after all, the barista’s duty to serve drinks – irrespective of how ludicrous they may appear.

“So what?” one said. “Why is it the customers problem if Starbucks permits them to customise their drink like this? If that’s the way they like their drink who cares?”

They added: “It’s your job to make the drink, who are you to judge what a customer likes? Why did you take the 20 seconds to photograph a customers drink for internet brownie points if the wait was such a big deal? Why is it the customers fault the wait is so long? I’m all for ripping into customers when they’re being rude buggers, but this customer merely ordered a drink they find lovely.”
