Where to look at England vs Bosnia with Three Lions match not on BBC or ITV

England‘s final preparations for Euro 2024 are in full swing, but fans might need a bit of assistance to catch their last strides before jetting to Germany.

Gareth Southgate‘s squad will entertain Bosnia and Herzegovina at St. James’ Park on Monday, followed by Iceland at Wembley for a final warm-up match on Friday. And fans will be delighted to learn both games will be broadcast on free-to-air television.

Traditionally, Three Lions matches have been aired either on BBC or ITV over the years. Both channels will split the coverage rights throughout Euro 2024, with England’s first two Group C games scheduled to be shown on the BBC, reported the Mirror.

However, Channel 4 will take the reins this week as Southgate finalises his pre-tournament strategy. England haven’t tasted victory in their last three outings but will aim to inject some much-needed momentum into their Euro 2024 run-up.

The friendlies against Iceland and Bosnia will signal the end of Channel 4’s association with England for the time being. The broadcaster inked a two-year contract to show the Three Lions’ fixtures from June 2022 until September 2024.

At that point, ITV will reclaim its role as England’s primary broadcaster for the next four years. A total of 40 England internationals will be shown on the channel between September this year and June 2028, while it also holds the rights to England women’s matches until next year.

The deal, which includes both home and away matches, will commence when England starts a new UEFA Nations League cycle this coming September. They’ll face off against Greece, Finland and the Republic of Ireland in Group B2, aiming to secure promotion back to the top tier at the first opportunity.

“We’re delighted to bring the England men’s team back to ITV, which keeps coverage of their progress between major tournaments on free to air television,” ITV’s Director of Sport, Niall Sloane, expressed when the new deal was unveiled. “We have an experienced team here who are looking forward to bringing viewers all the action and insight from England’s qualification campaigns in the coming years.”

For the time being, Southgate and his team will play their pre-Euros friendlies under Channel 4’s supervision, with anticipation building ahead of the big kick-off in Germany. Monday’s match is particularly noteworthy as it will be England’s first encounter with Bosnia and Herzegovina before they aim to replicate their 4-0 victory over Iceland four years ago.
