Kai Havertz one among 10 Prem stars incomes greater than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid

A slew of Premier League aces are set to earn more than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.

The 15-time European champions have officially announced the signing of the World Cup-winning French striker on a five-year contract at £250,000-per-week. He will formally join the La Liga titans on July 1, following the expiration of his PSG contract.

Earlier this year, the 25-year-old revealed his plans to depart PSG. As a free agent and widely considered the world’s top striker, Mbappe is expected to receive an astronomical signing-on fee, with estimates ranging from £80million to a staggering £128million.

However, his weekly wage will be relatively modest for a player of his calibre with up to 10 Premier League players earning more. Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne tops the list in the top-flight, raking in £400,000, closely followed by his teammate Erling Haaland on £375,000, as per Spotrac.

The first non-City players are Manchester United’s Casimiro and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, both pocketing £350,000, reports the Mirror.

Kai Havertz will earn more money than Kylian Mbappe

A pair of Chelsea players follow, although only one still represents the club, and even his future seems uncertain. Raheem Sterling and Romelu Lukaku, who spent the season on loan at Roma, are both reported to earn £325,000 per week.

Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish from Man City, plus Marcus Rashford of Man United, all pocket a cool £300,000 weekly. Pushing up the rear of the top 10 list is Kai Havertz, the sole Arsenal representative, earning £280,000 a week.

Regardless of his weekly earnings, Mbappe’s hefty signing-on bonus shouldn’t cause him any sleepless nights. The confirmation of his transfer to Real Madrid finally puts to rest one of football’s worst-kept secrets, following months of speculation revolving around the ex-Monaco player.

Kevin De Bruyne is the highest earner in the Premier League

Currently, Mbappe is lending his skills to the French squad as they prepare for Euro 2024. Upon conclusion of the tournament, he’ll officially join the Madrid-based club.

Sharing his excitement on X, he wrote: “A dream made reality. Very happy and proud to form part of the club of my dreams, Real Madrid. It is impossible to explain how happy and emotional I feel in this moment.”
