Jeannette Charles, who reigned supreme in the world of lookalikes by impersonating Queen Elizabeth II, has died aged 96 – the same age reached by the late monarch.
The mother-of-three and grandmother-of-four passed away in a care home in Great Baddow, Essex, on Sunday, surrounded by loved ones, her family revealed last night.
She began working as a lookalike in 1971, when she was a housewife married to her late husband Kenneth, and turned her striking resemblance to Queen Elizabeth into a career that lasted until she retired in 2014.
In her heyday, and with a long list of hit movie appearances behind her, she was deemed the most famous lookalike in the world.

Screen credits included 1978’s The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash with Eric Idle, 1988’s The Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley, and Austin Powers In Goldmember with Mike Myers, Beyonce and Michael Caine.
Her daughter Carol Christophi said: ‘Mum was a real character and a force of nature. She had an amazing life.
‘She was always respectful of the Queen and adored the Royal Family. We will miss her dearly.’
