Fed up bloke, 74, dubbed the brand new Brenda after ‘usual crap’ election rant

Move over Brenda, there’s a new grumpy golden oldie in town – and he “couldn’t give a damn,” about the election.

A recent on-street interview with a disgruntled voter has left the nation in raptures – and summed up the way many in the country are feeling. Nigel from Hertford has taken over where the infamous Brenda from Bristol left off, letting an interviewer know just what he thought of the upcoming general election and its candidates.

Brenda won the hearts and minds of the nation when she told an interviewer in 2017: “You’re joking. Not another one? Oh for God’s sake… I can’t stand this,” following news Theresa May had called a snap election.

For our somewhat different take on politics it’s worth taking a peek

Now, speaking to Pen News for its “Listening to Britain” series, Hertford Nigel, 74, said: “I couldn’t give a damn. When you get to my age you’ve heard it all before – they’re all full of s***.

“I don’t care if people are offended by my language. I’m offended by politicians.”

It has now been watched on YouTube more than 22,000 times and over 40,000 times across various platforms.

People have fallen in love with Nigel since his from-the-heart message. “This is the man for PM,” wrote one viewer. Another commented: “I feel like the first guy and I’m 27.”

A third person reacted: “The first man’s right this government, both sides, need to go all of them should get there [sic] p45 and a complete reform from top to bottom.”

Later on in his interview, Nigel was asked if he saw much difference between Labour and the Conservatives. “Not for a working man,” he said. “I don’t trust any of them – it’s just talk.”

He was even asked about the Green Party, who made gains in the Hertford District at the local electrons last year. Again, Nigel was steadfast. He added: “People can vote for what they want, I’m totally democratic. I just don’t like any of them.

“The two main parties I’m totally fed up with. Same old crap you hear all the time. Promise? Yeah right.

“In two years time, all they’ll say is ‘we haven’t done it yet, because we’re still making up for the mess the other lot left behind’. Same old every time.”

He added: “Green? I might do. I might just not bother”.
