Four individuals rushed to hospital after fairground experience ‘fails’

Four people have been rushed to hospital after a fairground ride ‘failed’ and sent people ‘flying through the air’ at Lambeth Country Show in London

Emergency services were called to the scene in Brockwell Park today and four people were taken to hospital, according to the police.

An eyewitness told MailOnline that people were screaming and crying. The source said they saw one person with blood on their face and someone way laying on the ground.

They said: ‘People were running towards us and crying and screaming … Saw a lady with blood streaming down her face. She had paramedics carrying her off the ride.

‘As we were leaving they were putting up higher fences where someone was on the floor, they were being looked after by paramedics and the higher fences had black sheets around them and you couldn’t see so someone was very injured and they were giving them privacy.’

The witness said that the rides stopped soon after the incident and added: ‘I heard someone say that someone had come off the ride but I didn’t see it.’

Another eyewitness said: ‘I am told a ride collapsed and all hell broke loose.

‘It was horrific. The screams were terrible. Four people flew off and went through the air.

‘It was like a horror movie.’
