Apple groups up with OpenAI – giving iPhone customers entry to ChatGPT
AI future: Apple chief exec Tim Cook set out how the US tech giant would incorporate AI into its iPhone, iPad and Mac laptops
Apple has joined forces with OpenAI – giving iPhone users access to use its ChatGPT artificial intelligence technology.
Chief executive Tim Cook set out how the US tech giant would incorporate AI into its iPhone, iPad and Mac laptops.
And he confirmed media speculation that it is integrating its products with ChatGPT. This will allow users to ask a question via its Siri feature and the AI chatbot will give a response.
And it can be used to create a bedtime story for children and add pictures – for no extra cost to customers.
But Apple investors were left underwhelmed last night by its venture into artificial intelligence, which Cook dubbed ‘Apple intelligence’.
He showcased different features at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in California.
The US giant was hoping to reassure investor doubts amid a battle to win an AI race against rival Microsoft.
But shares fell around 1.5 per cent as some investors were expecting more from the update.
