England followers’ largest ‘fanxieties’ forward of Euro 2024 match in Germany

A whopping 83% of England fans are biting their nails over the team’s chances at the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany, a recent poll of 1,606 supporters has revealed.

The survey uncovered some quirky fears too, like bagging a goal ‘too early’, enduring a David Beckham ’98-style sending off, or the horror of being bested by Scotland.

Yet, hope springs eternal for 20% of the polled footie enthusiasts, as per BoyleSports, known for its early payouts, who reckon it’s coming home this time around.

Still, a third of the fans think France will nab the title for the first time since the millennium and snag their third win overall.

A spokesperson from BoyleSports chimed in: “While football fans are passionate about the game, it can also bring a fair amount of stress.”

“Few supporters of an international team have had it all go their way and England fans will likely feel they’ve suffered more than most.”

“And these experiences could explain why so many fans have worries about their prospects in Germany, but perhaps their fortunes will finally turnaround.”

Other nail-biters for the Three Lions’ faithful include the squad playing too defensively, conceding last-gasp goals, and another ‘golden generation’ fizzling out.

Concerns over Gareth Southgate’s cautious tactics, Jude Bellingham picking up a knock, and the prospect of facing Germany are also keeping fans up at night.

And let’s not forget the dreaded ‘curse of ITV’ with England having won a measly three out of 17 World Cup games broadcast on ITV, compared to a much cheerier 12 out of 16 on BBC.

The heartache of international footie has left a whopping 27% of England supporters in tears, according to new stats.

But it’s not just the waterworks for fans, as 42% reckon boss Gareth Southgate will hang up his waistcoat after Euro 2024, with half of them quite chuffed to see the back of him.

Despite the nail-biting nerves, a survey by OnePoll revealed some certainties among the Three Lions faithful.

A hefty one-third are gutted Wales didn’t make the cut for the Euros, and there’s a similar sentiment for the absence of the Republic of Ireland (25%) and Northern Ireland (23%).

BoyleSports’ spokesperson chimed in: “Clearly ‘Fanxiety’ is a very real side effect of watching football and with just days to go until Euro 2024, England fans are feeling the pressure! “.
