Fans of solely two Prem golf equipment would favor England win Euro 2024 over membership success

A YouGov Sport poll has found that 62% of football fans would pick their club’s successes over their country’s.

The research, commissioned by Betfair, shows that only Chelsea and Brighton fans would seemingly rather see England take home the gold in Euro 2024 in Germany this summer than see their side lift the Premier League title next year – with 60% at Stamford Bridge and 56% of Seagulls supporters preferring the Three Lions.

And while Chelsea fans are said to be the most patriotic of the Premier League, Liverpool featured heaviest at the opposite end of the scale – with a mere 32% choosing an England trophy over another league title. France are tipped heaviest to take home the glory in Germany this year, with almost a third (30%) seeing them reign supreme – while England fell in at second place, with 17% of football fans thinking Gareth Southgate’s side have a chance of silverware this year.

More than half of those who said England will go all the way (54%) say that the country has the best side since the 2006 ‘golden generation’, wile 51% admitted that Jude Bellingham is pivotal to victory in the tournament. In contrast, 36% think that the Three Lions will reach the semi-finals.

A Betfair spokesperson said: “While we make England favourites to win Euro 2024 at 3/1, the same levels of optimism aren’t shared by the majority of football fans, with only 17% backing the Three Lions to go all the way and lift the trophy. Those supporters who do think England can go all the way are right to point out the talent in the squad, with most saying this is greatest England team since the 2006 golden generation, hopefully they can go further than that side and bring football home.”
