Pizza Ch-Eat sheet helps Brits be taught the soccer guidelines they do not perceive

As the nation prepares for the Euros kick-off this week, a clever Ch-Eat sheet has been devised to ensure casual football fans don’t feel as sidelined as Jack Grealish.

A whopping 71% of adults confess that they find some of the rules of football perplexing. However, over half (53%) of Brits still want to join in, believing that the best part of a major sporting event is the atmosphere it generates.

Almost half (45%) think that gathering to watch a big match is more thrilling than the game itself.

Over a third (35%) turn a sporting event into a feast, viewing it as an ideal opportunity to invite friends and family over to watch together. Yet, over a third (39%) admit they feel awkward and excluded from chats with their footie-mad mates when they lack the correct lingo or don’t grasp the etiquette.

The off-side rule baffles over a quarter (28%) of the 1,500 adults surveyed, followed by VAR (Video Assistant Referee) decisions (26%) and referee hand signals (25%), reports the Mirror.

Plenty of rules baffle footie newcomers

PizzaExpress, which sponsored the new study, is adamant that no one should feel like a substitute during this year’s tournament. They’ve created a guide decoding all the sports jargon and peculiarities so everyone can feel like part of the team and confidently shout ‘Come on, ref!’, ‘That’s a foul’, or ‘They’re parking the bus’.

PizzaExpress has announced a new menu featuring a variety of new pizzas, particularly aimed at shared enjoyment during sporting events. The line-up includes the Ch-Eat sheet as a complimentary add-on, and offers 40% off bespoke items such as the Dream Team, the Ultimate Formation, and the Champion Podium, which features three Large Classic pizzas and Double Dough Balls Doppio.

Each Large Classic pizza has twice the amount of dough typically used for the classic base.

The Dough Balls can also be utilized for a fun game of penalty kicks in unique football pitch-style boxes that come free with any online order from selected PizzaExpress Deliveries restaurants.

Jo Vaughton from PizzaExpress said: “With an exciting summer of sport ahead of us, we know that it will be full of social gatherings and celebrations. Our new delicious Large Classic pizza the ultimate sharing pizza and the launch of our Football Ch-EAT Sheet and Dough Ball Penalty Shoot-Out are all about bringing people together and making memories over this momentous summer.”

If you are keen on enhancing your football knowledge while enjoying tasty pizzas, simply order your Large Classic bundle through PizzaExpress Delivers Order Online to receive a complimentary Ch-EAT Sheet, or engage in a friendly game of Dough Ball Penalty Shoot-Out.
