Labour’s Dawn Butler posts election rap video and it’s a diss track at Tories
Labour’s Dawn Butler has channelled British hip hop group So Solid Crew in a hilarious music video where she urges voters to back the party.
The Labour candidate for Brent East shared her take on the 2001 top-20 hit “21 Seconds” in a video uploaded to X, formerly Twitter. Taking to the platform today, Butler posted “We’ve got 21 days before they’ve got to go.”
Butler swapped out the original lyrics and turned the song into a diss track aimed at booting the Tories out on July 4. “We’ve got 21 days to go, we’ve got 21 days to go,” she sang. “If you like me, let me know, let me out the shadow.”
The song saw Butler walking around a park while hitting out at Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and other previous Tory leaders.
Since being uploaded today, the video has attracted more than 103,000 views on the platform and has been retweeted hundreds of times. The tune went down as a hit on the social media platform with many praising Butler. Lynda Waltho said: “Brilliant. And so Dawn lolz.”
Labour parliamentary candidate Paulette Hamilton added: “Fantastic, I love this.
