Kate Middleton seen for first time in months as she attends Trooping the Colour

Kate Middleton has been spotted in public for the first time in nearly six months as she joins Prince William and King Charles for Trooping the Colour.

The Princess of Wales was snapped travelling to the event today in a maroon car alongside other members of her family. Photos taken of her arrival showed her sporting a white dress with a blue bow and a white hat, with her hair fastened in a neat bun.

The Princess of Wales announced on Friday evening (June 14) that she would be attending the event after revealing she’s making “good progress” in her recovery from cancer, but is “not out of the woods yet.”

Kate released a personal message to the nation for the first time since revealing her cancer ordeal and admitted she has “good days and bad days.”

The 42-year-old said she is still undergoing preventative chemotherapy and will be for months to come. But a Palace source said she is “doing well” and had been “very much looking forward to being with her family” during the King’s birthday parade.

Speculation mounted as to whether Kate would be present at the Trooping the Colour as she did not attend the Colonel’s Review on June 8 – which is the traditional rehearsal for the Sovereign’s official birthday parade this weekend.

The palace released a new picture of Kate looking radiant beneath a tree in the grounds of Windsor taken earlier this week.

She said in a personal message: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

“It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
