Kate Middleton ‘will not wish to draw consideration’ at Trooping the Colour says knowledgeable

Kate Middleton ‘doesn’t want to draw attention to herself’ as she makes her first public appearance in nearly six months.

The Princess of Wales was pictured arriving at Trooping the Colour today (Saturday, June 15) alongside Prince William and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Her attendance at the event comes following speculation she would skip the celebration this year as she undergoes treatment for cancer.

Kate was snapped travelling to the event in a maroon car, sporting a white dress with a black bow and a white hat, with her hair fastened in a neat bun. She could be seen looking out of the vehicle’s window.

Kate has attended today’s event despite her ongoing battle with cancer

One former police officer and psychology boffin believes the future Queen’s body language is particularly telling. Behavioural expert Darren Stanton, for Slingo, said: “When we are […] not wanting to stand out in front of the crowd, we make ourselves physically smaller, which is what is happening here.

“Kate has her arms folded, and one leg is crossed over the other. It doesn’t mean she’s in a negative state of mind or isn’t confident, it’s not about that, she just doesn’t want to draw too much attention to herself.”

However, he added Kate could simply be “reflecting” and enjoying her surroundings as she arrives at the annual spectacle. He added: “Kate is looking up at the sky, which is quite introspective. This suggests she might be reflecting on her current situation and how far she’s come.”

It was previously believed Kate might not attend the event this year, having announced her cancer diagnosis in March. However the 42-year-old has since revealed she is making “good progress” and continuing to receive treatment.

She said in a personal message: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
