The cute pet canine of Three Lion stars dress for the Euros
They think it’s all rover – well it is now! England’s Euro 2024 stars have been surprised at their German camp with some rather special portraits.
Hanging in the players’ hotel bedrooms on their arrival this week was an image of a very friendly face – their own pet dog – dressed variously in crowns, ruffs, epaulettes, furs and jewellery.
The out-of-the-box idea is intended to be a humorous way of reminding the players of home as they deal with the pressure of being the tournament favourites. Pictures of their families and children have also been hung up at the hotel.
Gareth Southgate‘s men have been readying themselves for their opening match against Serbia tomorrow night after touching down in Germany on Monday. England’s official Instagram account shared the AI-created dog portraits, asking fans to pick their favourite.
First up was Conor Gallagher’s chow chow Freddie, tongue out, in a gem-adorned gold crown, purple robe and a chunky necklace.

The Chelsea midfielder’s pooch is a star in his own right, with an Instagram account run by model girlfriend Aine May Kennedy. The page is filled with pictures of Freddie showing support for Gallagher by posing in England shirts .
Next up was goalie Jordan Pickford’s cavapoo Rubie wearing a pink gown and a golden crown.
Captain Harry Kane’s chocolate labrador Wilson was on show, bright-eyed in its own royal purple outfit. Kane also has another labrador, named Brady – the pair are named after American football legends Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.
Lewis Dunk’s cockapoos were similarly well dressed, one in golden epaulettes and the other in a pink gown.
Aaron Ramsdale’s chow chow Blue showed off some fine epaulettes of his own.
In previous interviews, Arsenal goalkeeper Ramsdale has opened up about life with Blue and the rest of the family. He said: ‘He runs the house when I’m not there.’ Ramsdale has also spoken about how his dog has helped him get through difficult moments in his career.
He told Sky News: ‘It helps so much. We’ve got a little group at football.

‘So me, Rob Holding (Crystal Palace centre-back), and Kieran Tierney (Real Sociedad left-back) have done a few dog walks, which is great.
‘Hardly speak about football when we go on these long walks. But even just myself, if it’s either a street walk, or a park, or a field, you don’t think about much – you’re just out in the open.’

Those without dogs were asked to send pictures of any other pets, with some understood to have shared images of their cats.
The doggy snaps were created using AI, before being printed and framed.
An ‘advance team’ then flew to England’s Blankenhain base four days before the squad, to hang the pictures on the players’ bedroom walls.
