Vinted vendor hailed on TikTook for itemizing Renault log e-book cowl as clutch bag
We all know times are hard with the cost of living crisis so we have to do what we can to get by.
But Vinted users were left both perplexed and impressed in equal measure when they stumbled across a listing for a £15 leather “clutch bag” that was in fact a Renault hand book cover often kept in the glove box.
In a video uploaded to TikTok by @depopdrama, the narrator says: “This woman is selling a Renault log book disguised as a black leather clutch bag on Vinted and you will not believe this.”

A screenshot appears to show a conversation between the seller and a buyer with a buyer stating: “You do realise this is a Renault log book and wallet and not a clutch back right?”

To which the seller replies: “And what?”
The buyer responds: “Well it’s false advertising. Your description says it’s a clutch bag and it’s clearly not.”
The seller writes: “You have too much time on your hands sweetie. What I sell on my page is my business and my business only.
“If you want to contact Vinted about it be my guest but you’re wasting your time. You’re probably just jealous you can’t afford this.”

In the video, which which has been viewed over 16,000 times, the narrator says: “There is so much to unravel here, I have so many questions. How is she selling a Renault log book disgused as a clutch bag for £15? This is ridiculous.
“Not gonna lie, it kind of does look like a clutch bag but it’s obviously got the Renault logo on it. Like what is going on?”
They added: “It cracks me up the way they’ve put it on the shelf with this little holder and just displayed it as if it is an actual clutch bag.
“I mean fair play to this woman, in a cost of living crisis, you’ve gotta make your money somehow and if someone buys this clutch bag for £15, hats off to her because this is marketing genius.”
The clip attracted scores of comments.
One said: “Wonder how much I’ll get for my Audi clutch bag?”
Another joked: “She’s also selling a makeup mirror that looks like a rear view mirror.”
A third person said: “Seller’s husband forgot a birthday and pulled blinder.”
But many were impressed with the seller’s creativity with one adding: “I kinda think it’s genius.”
