Fans spot Koeman showing to select his nostril and eat it on Netherlands bench
Eagle-eyed football fans spotted Ronald Koeman digging for gold on Sunday afternoon.
Koeman, 61, was in the dugout for the Netherlands as they opened their Euro 2024 campaign against Poland. And when cameras cut to the ex-Everton boss, he could be seen rubbing his face before sticking one finger up his nose.
However, as the camera lingered on Koeman, he could then be seen sticking it into his mouth for a taste and licking his hand – much to the disgust of football fans. One fan said: “On national TV infront of the whole word! Utterly shameless…”

“Lump on Netherlands to win the Euros cause when Joachim Low was doing this stuff Germany were unstoppable,” a second joked. While a third replied: “Having a right feast!”
“Nothing wrong with a lil-mid game snack,” a fourth responded. And another added, with a gif of Low: “You can kill the man, not the idea!”

The Netherlands were shocked by Poland in the opening minutes of their Euro 2024 opener when Adam Buksa headed home. However, Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo was able to fire the Dutch level just before half-time.
Manchester United flop Wout Weghorst – introduced in the 81st minute – was on hand to snatch the win with a close-range finish moments after coming on. It was huge win for the Netherlands, who now face France on Friday (June 21).
The clash, however, was overshadowed by an incident that unfolded before kick-off. In the hours leading to the game, a man was shot by police, close to where Dutch fans had been gathering in Hamburg, after he had reportedly been wielding an axe.
Hamburg police released a statement which read: “There is currently a major police operation.
“According to initial findings, a person threatened police officers with a pickaxe and an incendiary device. The police then used their firearms. The attacker was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.”
