All 61 E.Coli contaminated objects in UK listed as consultants warn ‘don’t eat these’

A whopping 61 food items from UK supermarkets have been yanked from shelves by panicked manufacturers amid and E. coli outbreak that’s landed Brits in hospital beds.

Food maker THIS! has become the latest to pull its products off the shelves as a “precautionary measure” during the health fright. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has dished out a warning that THIS! has slapped a recall on its vegan chicken and bacon wrap, which is only up for grabs at WH Smith, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The FSA has issued a stark warning overall, telling anyone who’s bagged the product up to and including Tuesday, June 18, to steer clear of eating it and instead take it back to the shop for a refund.

This scare comes hot on the heels of Greencore Group and Samworth Brothers Manton Wood, who’ve already chucked a load of sarnies, wraps, and salads from top UK supermarkets into the recall bin over fears they’re linked to the E. coli scare.

Greencore’s goods include a sandwiches, wraps, and salads sold at Sainsbury’s, Asda, Aldi, Morrisons, Co-op, and Boots.

Food Standards Agency boss Darren Whitby said: “Sandwich manufacturers are taking a precautionary measure to recall various sandwiches wraps and salads in response to findings from investigations by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), who are working to identify the cause of an ongoing outbreak caused by shiga toxin-producing E.coli (Stec).”
