Katie Holmes was pictured out in New York City sporting a casual outfit on Monday.
The 45-year-old went makeup free, wearing a baseball cap with her long, brown hair tucked underneath and a big, brown bag thrown over her shoulder.
Katie donned a light-colored button-down shirt with a darker button-down on top, charcoal sweats, and sneakers.
The Dawson’s Creek actress kept a forlorn look on her face as she carried a coffee in one hand and her cell phone in the other.
Katie’s stroll through the Big Apple comes weeks after it was revealed that her daughter Suri Cruise – who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise – is headed to college this fall.

The 18-year-old shared her upcoming plans through a classmate’s video.
In a Tiktok clip captioned ‘LaG commitment day’ and set to the song ‘I’ll Always Remember You,’ the seniors showed off their college sweater.
Suri displayed her red Carnegie Mellon University sweater at the camera, making funny faces and participating in a cute dance alongside her pals.
But before Suri heads to Pittsburgh, she is enjoying her time in the city, being photographed on a bike ride in Central Park earlier this month.
The high school graduate bares a striking resemblance to her mom, even wearing her long brown hair down around her face like Katie.
But despite her Hollywood upbringing, Suri wants to remain out of the spotlight.
She is determined to remain ‘private,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com in April.

Meanwhile, as Suri looks forward to her future, her mom is reflecting back on how her only child’s birth spurred a fashion evolution.
When asked if motherhood has changed her sense of style, Katie told the U.K. newspaper The Times in June, ‘I feel like, in some ways, yes.’
‘When my child was really small, I was drawn to wearing a lot of dresses,’ she continued. ‘You do go through these different phases of motherhood and they inform what you feel comfortable in and what you don’t. So over the years my style has changed here and there.’
But these days, Katie is drawn to vintage clothing.
‘Living in New York City, I have to have things that are practical and comfortable,’ she explained. ‘Usually I’m in ballet flats, sneakers, baggy jeans and a T-shirt.’

And despite saving several items of clothing to pass down to her daughter, she admitted that Suri ‘has her own sense of style and her own expressions.’
Nonetheless, ‘sometimes the basics definitely disappear,’ Katie teased. ‘But that’s fine.’
Over the years, the MTV Movie Award winner has kept Suri primarily out of the spotlight and recently opened up that decision.
‘What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,’ Katie told Glamour in April. ‘I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.’
