Littler’s response to risk of Misfits struggle after calling out TikTok star

Luke Littler may have turned down a fight with Beavo anytime soon – but the 17-year-old darts sensation hasn’t ruled out sparring in the future.

It comes after an interview between ‘The Nuke’ and MMA reporter Ariel Helwani revealed that Littler would be interested in scrapping with the TikTok star – who is famous for swallowing food without chewing it. Opening up on the prospect of boxing at the time, he told the MMA Hour: “I’d love to. Why not. I tried it like once or twice when I was younger.”

Asked about if he would take on other darts superstars like Michael van Gerwyn or Michael Smith, Littler said that there was only one person who could tempt him into putting on the gloves at a Misfits boxing event. He added: “It’s like a proper person, it’s not a darts player. Do I like him? Nah. Beavo. He just swallows potatoes whole on TikTok. He had like a Sunday roast whole as well.”

Despite the callout back in May, Littler has reportedly played down actually getting in the ring any time soon, with Misfits star Mams Taylor explaining that his dig at the social media influencer was all “banter”. Speaking to talkSPORT, boxing guru Taylor said: “I actually messaged him right away as soon as I got wind of that.

“Lovely guy, he has come to a Misfits event before. I think he will come to Dublin later this year. But yeah he was like ‘I’m just having banter I don’t want to fight yet.”

However, Littler may have dropped a subtle hint about a future in influencer boxing, having told Taylor that “you never know”. He added: “But he said ‘you never know in the future’. Of course the door is always be open. It is right on brand with what Misfits Boxing is about. So it would be great to have him in the future.”

Real name Brandon Beavis, 23-year-old Beavo is a TikTok personality who gained notoriety for his videos of eating food – with many social media users noticing how he doesn’t chew much before swallowing. His videos, including quips such as “seasoned well, 7/10” and “you know the rules”, have racked up millions of views on social media – further skyrocketing him to fame.

Responding to Littler’s jabs in May, Beavo told ‘The Nuke’ to ‘get in the gym’ before he would consider a fight. However, for the time being, it seems as though Luke’s sights are set on his budding darts career – winning the Poland Darts Masters at the weekend to clinch yet another World Series of Darts title.

The Runcorn-born star beat Adam Gawlas 6-4 in his first game of the competition, before seeing off Peter Wright 6-3 in the quarter finals without much practice. A tight 7-6 victory over Michael Smith in the semis would leave him with the task of Rob Cross in the final, coolly beating his fellow Englishman 8-3 to take home the championship.
